Listening Sessions with Pastor Ari
Pastor Ari is excited about getting to know all members of Martin Luther Church and to learn about the things that make Martin Luther Church special to you. To do that, he is planning on having a series of listening sessions in January and February to meet with people. email.
Spiritual and Physical Time for Renewal
February 4, 2012, 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
Martin Luther Church
All women of Martin Luther Church and your friends are invited to join us
for a Spiritual and Physical Time for Renewal on Saturday, February 4.
Beverly Weeden will help us find our spiritual inner selves and we will have
experts on hand to help us improve our outer physical selves. Erin
Ziemendorf will be available for chair and hand massages Donna Hoppe will
help us have a little fun while stretching and toning a muscle or two.
Darlene Ziemendorf will have her beautiful hand-made, one of a kind jewelry
on display, plus there will be healthy and delicious snacks to munch on, as
well as a meditation area and other interesting exhibits. This time for
renewal starts with registration at 8:30 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. and ends with the
Lord's Prayer at 12:30 p.m. Babysitting will be available, so it's a
wonderful opportunity for young mothers to have some "me" time and receive a
little pampering. Look for the sign-up sheet at the church or call Kathy
Holat at 414-258-6362. See you there!
Adult Study on the Emerging Church
Adult Forum continues with the reboot of the "Embracing
Emergence Christianity" series by Phyllis Tickle. Pastor Ari will lead this
study in the conference room starting at 9:15 a.m. each Sunday. If you are
not already busy with Sunday School, please join us.
Pastor Richard Weeden's Bible Studies
Pastor Weeden (clergy-member of MLC) continues Bible Studies at Martin
Luther Church. These studies have become
popular with a number of congregational members (and other guests -- all are
welcome) who have found meaning in them including spirited (in more ways
than one!) discussions and understanding the Bible at a deeper level as well
as making it relevant.
The Women's study will take place on Monday, February 13, from 7:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. and will meet every subsequent
second Monday of each month. They will be studying 2 Corinthians.
The Men's study meets on Thursday, February 16 from 7:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. and will meet every subsequent
third Thursday of each month. They will be studying Colossians.
