September 27th - Our Country Western Night
Just around the corner is the Country Western Nite, Saturday,
September 27th, 5:00 P.M. See the posters for our catered menu (by
Bunzels). Cost is just $15 per person for appetizers, beverages, chuck
wagon food, and our entertainment for the evening which is Line Dancing.
Don’t stay away if you do not wish to dance. It will be loads of fun to
sit and watch. Our own Donna Hoppe will lead us. Everyone is welcome,
singles, couples and friends of MLC. Sign-up with payment begins now.

October 11th -Family Day at Basse's County Farm
On Saturday, October 11, join MLC for the Family Day at Basse’s
Country Farm where you can get your tractor rides to the fields to pick
your very own pumpkin. We finally lucked out last year with good
weather; can we duplicate it this year? This is an annual event for the
entire family from MLC. Friends are always invited. You need not be part
of a family to join in on the fun. At MLC we are all family!

soon. Be sure to sign up yourself and your family. Photo sessions begin
Saturday, 13, and Sundays September 28, October 5, 12, & 19th. We would

It’s the 22nd Annual Lutherdale Fest/Quilt Auction.
The admission is free on both pre-fest Friday (September 5th) and on
Quilt Auction/ Fest Saturday (September 6th). Hours for pre-fest Friday
are 10:00 A.M. until 4:00 P.M. and 5:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. On Pre-fest
Friday, you can make a silent bid, however, no quilts will be sold on
Friday. If you enter a winning bid, you will be notified following the
auction to come and pick up your quilt when you pay. The bakery, craft
and odds-n-end booths will be open. There will be snacks and light lunch
available for sale. On Saturday, Previewing of quilts and registration
begins at 8:00 A.M. The auction begins at 10:00 A.M. and continues until
all quilts are sold. Lutherdale Bible Camp, N7891 U.S. Hwy. 12, Elkhorn,
WI. Lutherdale is located on the west side of U.S. Hwy. 12, mid-way
between Whitewater and Elkhorn.
Greater Milwaukee Synod Assembly
Update
This year's Greater Milwaukee Synod Assembly was held May
29-31 at the Country Springs Hotel & Conference Center. The theme of the
Assembly was "God's Work, Our Hands." Representing Martin Luther Church
this year were Dennis Brylow and Nancy Sack.
There is a full report submitted by Nancy posted on the kiosk in our
narthex for those who want to read it. However here are a few
highlights:

Bishop Paul Stumme-Diers was reelected for a second
six-year term.

Martin Luther Church members were elected to various
positions for the synod: Samantha Hoppe will represent us at the
next Churchwide Assembly in Minneapolis, Dennis Brylow is on the
Synod Consultation Committee, and Fred Meyer will again be on the
Synod Discipline Committee.

Key speakers and preachers at the Assembly were
Bishop Medardo Gomez, the Rev. Sherman Hicks, and Bishop Paul
Stumme-Diers.
